Steven McEwan (Caprington) was runner up in the 72 hole Tennant Cup competition over Glasgow Gailes & Killermont on Saturday & Sunday, finishing on 274, a distant 7 strokes behind the winner James Byrne (Banchory).
McEwan lay second to Byrne after the two rounds at Glasgow Gailes on Saturday but despite rounds of 68 & 64 over Killermont, he lost further ground on the leader when Byrne finished with two course record equalling rounds of seven under par 63 on Sunday.
Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) was sixth on 285.
