GREENLEES TROPHY LEAGUES - St Nicholas drop to division 2 for 2012

Despite winning their penultimate match of the season, Prestwick St Nicholas Ladies will be relegated to Division 2 of the West Of Scotland Ladies Inter Club Leagues for the Greenlees Trophy for the 2012 season.

A 5 - 4 home win over Douglas Park in their last match was not a sufficiently large winning margin to keep their faint hopes of avoiding the drop alive.

Kilmarnock (Barassie) hopes were dealt a blow with a recent 5.5 - 3.5 defeat at Douglas park whilst Troon maintained their challenge with a 7.5 - 1.5 home win over Whitecraigs.

With two teams to be relegated to Division 2 at the end of the campaign, the present positions in Division 1 are :-

In Division 2, West Kilbride and Largs will go up to Division 1 next season as champions and runners up respectively.

A recent 5.5 - 3.5 defeat for West Kilbride at Largs ensured that both teams posted points totals which are out of reach of their nearest rivals, despite Largs suffering a 6 - 3 defeat at Hilton Park and their being four matches still to be completed in the league.
