PRESTWICK BOYS OPEN - Date change to avoid clash

The Prestwick Boys Open, scheduled to be held at Prestwick St. Cuthbert on Monday 7th July 2008, has been rescheduled to

MONDAY 30th JUNE 2008

This rescheduling will avaid a clash with the Pollock Trophy at Kilmarnock Barassie which is on &th July.

An Ayrshire Junior Order Of Merit counting event, The Prestwick Boys Open began in 1980 and has proved to be one of the most popular events of its kind in the South West.

With prizes and trophies for two handicap classes, under 16 Scratch and overall Scratch there is something for evertyone within the event.

The main award, The Scott Gillon Trophy, is presented to the player returning the best scratch score of the day and boasts some prominent former winners, including four players who went on to play in the Walker Cup :- Jim Milligan (Kilmarnock Barassie), Paul Girvan (Prestwick St. Nicholas), Dean Robertson (Cochrane Castle) and Gordon Sherry (Kilmarnock Barassie).

Entry forms will soon be available through local clubs or further information can be obtained from Prestwick St. Cuthbert Golf Club on 01292 477101.
