John Cairney (Irvine Ravenspark) opened his defence of the Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy with an impressive 7 & 5 away win over Elliot Braddock (Prestwick St. Cuthbert) in the first round of this years competition.Cairney now plays host to former Ayrshire Boys Champion Neil McCormack (New Cumnock) in round 2.
In the other first round match played so far, Stuart Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie) had a 3 & 1 home win over Robert Gilchrist (Chase) and now plays host to David Gilmour (Moorpark) in the second round.
The remaining first round ties are due for completion by Sunday 13th April.
