AYRSHIRE GOLF ASSOCIATION - The Sandy Provan Trophy - Ayrshire Seniors Championship

Senior golfers in Ayrshire will have a new fixture on the calendar this year with the relaunch of The Ayrshire Seniors Championship.

The winner of the main event will be the player who returns the best Nett score on the day, who will hold the new Ayrshire Seniors Championship Trophy for the year.

The new Trophy, presented by AGA President Ricky Magee (Caprington) and AGA Vice President Alasdair Malcolm (Prestwick St. Cuthbert) is to be known as The Sandy Provan Trophy, in recognition of the service given to the Ayrshire Golf Association by Tournament Director Sandy Provan, during many years of service to the association, particularly in the competition field.

Sandy Provan is pictured with the new trophy which will be played for for the first time this year, on the 22nd July, appropriately at Sandy's home club of Kilmarnock (Barassie).

The Ayrshire Seniors Championship should prove to be a welcome addition to the "Senior Tour" in the county. Entry forms have been distributed to members clubs and players are advised to enter early to avoid disappointment.
