The three first round ties in the 2008 Ayrshire Golf Association Fourball Knockout Championship were completed this week.
The West Kilbride pair of John Campbell and Robin Paton had a 4 & 3 home win over William Simpson and David Breckenridge of Ayr Dalmilling to set up a home tie in round 2 against the Brunston Castle pair of David & George McCulloch, who booked their place in rond 2 with a home win over John Harris & Brian Graham of New Cumnock.
In the other first round tie, Campbell & Ross McCluskie of Crosshouse beat Willie Marshall and Andrew Blackwood of Moorpark and now have a home tie in the second round against the 2007 beaten finalists, Scott McCahill and David Wallace of Maybole.
These and all other second round ties are due to be completed by 25th May.
