AYRSHIRE MEN'S CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS TROPHY - Harvey Broadfoot and Gavin Chesney through to final

The 2025 Ayrshire Men's Champion of  Champions Trophy final at Royal Troon on Friday the 15th of August will be between Harvey Broadfoot (Royal Troon) and Gavin Chesney (Kilbirnie Place), following completion of the two semi final matches on the evening of Friday the 8th of August, also at Royal Troon.

Harvey Broadfoot, the 2024 Ayrshire Men's Matchplay Champion and current Ayrshire Men's Strokeplay Champion, was up against Andrew J Gibsom (Caprington) in the first semi final, and the early holes were shared, with Harvey holding a single hole lead after four holes before taking control of the match, winning successive holes from the fifth to the seventh with two winning pars and a lost ball at the 6th by Andrew contributing to a four hole lead for Harvey after seven holes.

A par four at the ninth was enough for Harvey to extend his lead to five holes at the turn and winning par fours at the elevnth and twelfth allowed harvey to close out the match by 7&6

In the second semi final Gavin Chesney, the 2024 Ayrshire Men's Strokeplay Champion, faced Gary Jordan (Portmann) to decide who would face harvey broadfoot in the championship final.

Gavin took the opening two holes with par fours and although gary reduced the defecit by winning the third, a birdie four at the fourth restored gavin's two hole advantage.

The lead was quickly extended to four holes when pars were good enough for Gavin to win the fifth and sixth hole, a lead which he maintained to the turn.

At the tenth a par four was enough for Gary to reduce the defecit to three, which was maintained over the next three holes before gary further reduced Gavin's lead to just two holes when he won the fourteenth with a par three.

With just four holes remaining and two holes behind, time was run ning out for Gary's hopes and the comback proved to be just beyond his reach when the fifteenth was halved in fours and then Gavin won the sixteenth with a birdie four to close out the match and secure the final place with a 3&2 victory.

The destination of the championship trophy and title between harvey and gavin will be decided on the evening of Friday the 15th of August over the championship course at Royal Troon.
