AYRSHIRE JUNIOR ORDER OF MERIT - Finlay Watt leads at the half way stage

Finlay Watt (West Kilbride) leads the chase for the 2025 Ayrshire Junior Order of Merit title as the number of counting events completed reaches the half way stage.

Top points at the recent Byrne Howard Junior Open at Troon and Kilmarnock Barassie Junior Open competitions were taken by Oliver Kane (Royal Troon) and Harris Vennard  (Ayr Belleisle) respectively.

Despite only picking up points over the two events for a joint seventh place finish at Kilmarnock Barassie, Finlay Watt extended his lead over Gregor hay in second place, while sixth place finishes in both events saw Euan Forrest (Turnberry) close the gap at the top of the table and share joint third spot with Harris Vennard.

The Turnberry Junior Open, sheduled for Monday the 4th of August, fell victim to Storm Floris, being cancelled on safety grounds, with no plans to reschdedule the competition this season.

The next two counting events are the Ayrshire Boys & Ayrshire Girls Championships, and with the late withdrawal from the competition of both Finlay Watt and Gregor hay, the other players have the chance to close the gap further on the leadign two players in the Junior order of merit.
