Despite some good individual rounds during the qualifying stages, including a morning 69 by Jack McDonald and an afternoon 68 from Steven McEwan, the Ayrshire team total of 736 left them in eighth place, 11 shots adrift of the qualifying score of 725.
Perth & Kinross led the four qualifying teams and will play Stirlingshire in the semi finals on Sunday morning.
The other semi final will feature defending champions Fife against Renfrewshire.
