Ayrshire Matchplay Champion Scott Brown (Turnberry) - pictured right (photo courtesy of DMC photography) - from the front to win the premier trophy, The Mills Quaich during the recent Troon Golf Week.
Brown led the qualifiers for the matchplay stages after qualifying rounds over Lochgreen & Darley and carried his form into the matchplay, beating Fraser McCall (Troon Porltand) by 5 & 4 in the final.
Dropping shots at both the opening holes, Brown found himself two holes down in the final before he got back in the groove, covering the remaining holes without droppng a shot to par on his way to victory.
