SCOTTISH MEN'S AREA TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP - Victory over The North at Moray ensures a semi final place for Ayrshire

A 5.5 - 3.5 victory over The North at Moray on Sunday the 9th of July confirmed that Ayrshire topped the qualifying section and secured a place in the semi finals of  the Scottish Men's Area Team Championship at Paisley GC in September.

The winning team at Moray
Blair Morton, Steven McEwan, Steven Stamper, Aidan Long, Calum Nairn & John Haggarty

A 3-0 win in the morning foursomes left Ayrshire needing just two pints from the six afternoon singles matches to progress to the last four in the competition, and although the afternoon singles series was lost 3.5 - 2.5, the Ayrshire side did enough to secure a win in the match and a semi final spot for the second successive year since the championship format was altered in 2022.
