AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Royal Troon take big step towards first Division 1 title

Royal Troon's bid for their first Ayrshire Scratch league Division 1 title received a great boost on Friday the 7th of July, when they defeated defending champions Irvine GC by 4.5 - 1.5 in their latest fixture at Troon.

The win moves Royal Troon clear of Kilmarnock Barassie in second place, at the top of the table.

In the other fixture played recently, Loudoun's relegation worries were compounded by a 4 - 2 defeat at Largs.

In DIVISION 2, Prestwick St Cuthbert got their title hopes back on track with a 6-0 whitewash of their visitors from West Kilbride in their latest fixture, whilst Caprington kept their hopes on track with a 5.5 - 0.5 home win over Troon Portland

In the other fixture played recently, Troon St Meddans kept their hopes of a title play off place with a 4 - 2 home win over Rowallan Castle.
