Shanks opened with a superb best of the day 66, 5 under par, and added a one under par 70 in the afternoon, in worstening weather conditions, for a 36 hole total of 136 which gave him a clear 3 shot victory over his nearest rival, Robert Jenkins (Crow Wood).
