Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) was on the winning side when Great britain & Ireland boys beat Europe in the Jaques Leglise Trophy at Notts Golf Club on Saturday.
With a five point lead overnight, the GB & I team looked comfortable, especially when they took the saturday morning foursomes by 2.5 - 1.5 to extend their lead, but the continental side fought back to take the singles by 5.5 - 2.5 to leave the G.B. & I. side with a narrow winning margin of 13.5 - 10.5 overall.
In the Saturday morning foursomes, Stewart and Fraser Fotheringham lost by 3 & 2 to Sean Einhaus & Pedro Figueiredo, whilst in the afternoon Stewart gained a crucial half point in his match against Matteo Manassero, sinking the putt that ensured that the G.B. & I. side could not be beaten
