AYRSHIRE BOYS MATCHPLAY CHAMPIONSHIP - Brown still on course for double

Euan Brown (Kilmarnock Barassie) remains on course for the Strokeplay and Matchplay double as the Ayrshire Boys Matchplay Championship got under way at Prestwick on Thursday evening, 9th August.

Brown, who won the Ayrshire Boys title last week at Ballochmyle, faced his namesake Scott Brown (Turnberry) in the first round and edged into the semi finals with a one hole victory.

In the semi finals, Brown will meet Adam Foley (Ayr Belleisle), who had a victory by the same margin over former Ayrshire Boys Champion, and Boys Internationalist, Cameron Gray (West Kilbride), in round one.

Leader in the Junior Order Of Merit, Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay) had a 5 & 3 victory over Jamie Acheson (Largs Routenburn) to claim a semi final place, where he will face Colin Robinson (Millport) who required extra holes to overcome the challenge of Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie), with the match finishing at the 21st.

The schedule for the semi finals, on Friday 10th August, is :-

Malcolm Pennycott (Whiting Bay) Vs. Colin Robinson (Millport)
