In the other match in the qualifying section, Argyll & Bute were 2-1 behind against the North at Kings, Inverness, but won the afternoon singles to win the match by 5 - 4.

The results so far leave Ayrshire and Argyll and Bute ties with a win and a draw at the top of the table, with Dumbartonshire having one win and North still to secure their first points of the campaign.

Ayrshire's final match in the qualifying section is on Sunday the 9th of July when they travel to play North at Moray, knowing that a victory by the same or better score than Argyll and Bute's against Dumbartonshire would see them qualify for the final in September.
