As the 2021 Ayrshire Scratch leagues move towards a conclusion, Ballochmyle and Troon St Meddans have been confirmed as the teams relegated from Divisions 1 and 2 this season, following recent results.
The chase for the DIVISION 1 title is extremely tight as the
final few games are scheduled to be completed by the end of August.
A 3 – 3 draw at home to Irvine took Loudoun to joint top of
the table with Prestwick St Cuthbert, with both teams having one fixture
remaining. Irvine lie just behind the two top of the table teams, with two
matches remaining to be played, one of which is a home match against Loudoun.
Turnberry have home matches against Prestwick St Cuthbert
and Irvine still to complete, and an away fixture against Kilmarnock Barassie,
as they bid to overtake Kilmarnock (Brarassie) and avoid the play off spot. A
recent 3 – 3 draw away to Turnberry in their final fixture of the season confirmed
Ballocmyle’s relegation to Division 2 next season.

In DIVISION 2, The final fixture of the league saw Troon St Meddans
beat their visitors from Largs by 3.5 – 2.5, which was enough to take them
level on points with Troon Portland at the foot of the table, but the winning
margin was not sufficient to overturn the games difference and avoid relegation
to Division 3 next season.

In DIVISION 3a, Ayr Belleisle have opened an advantage at
the top of the table following a 4 – 2 home win over Girvan in their final
fixture of the campaign. Prestwick St Nicholas kept their slim hopes of
securing the play off place alive with a 6 – 0 home win over Redburn recently.
West Kilbride have the best opportunity of overtaking Ayr Belleisle at the top of the table, with a
home match against Prestwick St Nicholas and an away match at Redburn
remaining. Victory in both matches would see West Kilbride through to the title
play off match.
As well as their away match at West Kilbride, Prestwick St Nicholas
have an away match at Girvan still to play. Though they cannot afford to drop
any points, victory in both fixtures would see then through to the title play
off match.
