WOMANS GOLF - Connie Jaffrey selected for G B & I Astor Trophy team

Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) has been named by The ladies Golf Union  as one of the five members of the Great Britain & Ireland team to defend The Astor Trophy against teams from Australia, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.

The event, formerly known as The Commonwealth Tournament, takes place every four years and will be played at The Grange, Adelaide, Australia from 12th to 16th January 2015.

The full team, which includes three Curtis Cup players, is :-

Hayley Davis (Ferndown) Age 21

Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) Age 18

Bronte Law (Bramhall) Age 19

Leona Maguire (Slieve Russell) Age 19

Charlotte Thomas (Singapore) Age 21

The team captain is Elaine Farquharson-Black (Deeside)

 

 The players in the GB & I team will also have the opportunity to play in the Australian Amateur Championship which will take place the following week, from 20th to 25th January at The lakes Golf Club in Sydney.
