SCOTTISH OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP - McDonald continues to impress by making cut

Jack McDonald
Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) continued his impressive performance at Castle Stuart in the 2012 Scottish Open Championship on Friday, returning a second successive two under par 70 for a championship total of  four under par.

With the cut for the final two projected at four under par, a bogey at the penultimate hole of his round saw McDonald drop back to three under but he secured a vital birdie at the final hole to return to four under and make the cut right on the mark.

His 144 total leaves McDonald 8 shots adrift of joint leaders Alexander Noren (Sweden) and Francesco Molinari (Italy) who are on 12 under par.

Fellow Ayrshireman Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) scored five shots better on day two, his 75 leaving him on 11 over par for the tournament.
