AYRSHIRE LADIES COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP - Malcolm leading qualifier for matchplay


Catherine Malcolm (Prestwick St. Nicholas), a two time winner of the title, was the leading qualifier for the matchplay stages of the 2010 Ayrshire ladies County Golf Association County Championship which is being played this week over the Prestwick St. Nicholas course.

Malcolm - pictured right - returned a two over par score of 74 in the 18 hole strokeplay qualifying round on Wednesday, three ahead of clubmate Rosalin Purdom who qualified in second place.

The CSS for the strokeplay round was 73.

The Championship continued into the matchplay stages on Wednesday and Thursday, with the final scheduled for a 2.00 p.m. tee off on Thursday.

The draw for the first round of the matchplay on Wednesday is :-

0940 - Liz Wilson (Kilmanrock Barassie) Vs. Emma Hale (Troon Bentinck)

0948 - Liz Keohone (Loudoun) Vs. Rachael McQueen (Troon Ladies)

0956 - Rachael Irvine (Largs) Vs. Ros Purdom (Prestwick St. Nicholas)
