Steven McEwan (Caprington) was the best placed of the Ayrshire players who contested the 72 hole Sutherland Chalice competition at Dumfries & Galloway over the weekend.
Winner of the 2009 competition was Paul O'Hara (Colville Park) on 270 with McEwan finishing fifth equal, 7 shots adrift of the winner, on 277.
Also finishing well up the field was David Addison (Kilmarnock Barassie) on 278.
