Although Scotland failed to qualify for the top flight, they remain on track for an overall ninth place finish after a narrow 3 - 2 win over Italy on Thursday at Golf Club de Pan in the Netherlands.
Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) played his part when he teamed up with Daniel Young to win the only foursomes tie and give Scotland a 1-0 lead before the four singles.
Sandy Bolton lost 5 and 4 in the first of the singles but Paul Shields won by 5 and 3.
Chris Robb lost 3 and 2 leaving the overall result was in the hands of Scottish Boys Champion David Law from Aberdeen.
In an extremely close match, law prevailed at the 22nd hole tto give Scotland victory over Italy.
