AYRSHIRE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - semi final line up confirmed


The line up for the semi final matches in the 2009 Ayrshire Champion Of Champions Trophy competition have been decided after all the quarter final matches were concluded this week.

Kevin Fergusson (Prestwick St. Cuthbert), who was first through to the semi finals, will face three times winner Tommy McInally (Loudoun) - pictured right - in the last four.

McInally booked his semi final spot with a victory at Kilmarnock Barassie over another former winner, David Miller, at the 20th hole.

former Ayrshire Boys Champion Neil McCormack (New Cumnock) won through to the semi finals with a 2 & 1 home win over Ayrshire Strokeplay Champion John Shanks (Irvine) and in the penultimate round will line up against Andrew Carroll (Drongan) who was awarded his quarter final tie by his opponent Del Chamberlain (Troon Welbeck) who is suffering from a back injury.

TOMMY McINALLY (Loudoun) Vs. KEVIN FERGUSSON (Prestwick St. Cuthbert)

ANDREW CARROLL (Drongan) Vs. NEIL McCORMACK (New Cumnock)

The semi final matches tee off at 5.00 p.m. at Royal Troon on Friday 7th August and spectators are welcome to attend and support the players involved.

The final is scheduled to take place at Royal Troon the following Friday, 14th August) with a 5.00 p.m. tee off time.
