Ayrshire narrowly lost out, for the second year in succession, when Lothians pipped them to take the Scottish Boys Area Team Championship title at Forrester Park on Sunday 11th September.
The Ayrshire team of Robert McKnight (Kilmarnock Barassie), Steven McEwan (Kilmarnock Barassie), Stuart Robin (Prestwick St. Nicholas) and Cameron Gray (West Kilbride) finished a single shot behind the winners, with McEwan also losing out , by virtue of the last 3 holes, in the chase for the Niagra Cup for the best individual round in the afternoon, with a level par 71.
