AYRSHIRE JUNIOR GOLF LEAGUE - St. Nicholas take Silver Jubilee Trophy in home win at Convenors Outing

Host club, Prestwick St. Nicholas took the honours in the 2005 A.J.G.L. Convenors Outing for the Silver Jubilee Trophy on Sunday 25th September.

A total of 18 teams took part in the competition, with St. Nicholas convenor Donald Hawthorn putting in the star performance of the day with a scratch return of 68, 1 under par, and a Stableford total of 40 points which was the best individual return of the day.

second place in the individual performances went to Barry Herbertson of Beith with 37 points.

In the team event, Donald Hawthorn was ably supported by Ryan Crane whose return of 31 points gave St. Nicholas a total of 71 points. This total was four clear of the second placed team, defending champions Ian Guthrie and Ian Walker of the Ayrshire Golf Association.

In addition to his other prizes, Donald Hawthorn also took the nearest the pin award for a tee shot at the final hole to 17' 9" from the pin.
