AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - All four leagues under way

 All four Ayrshire Scratch leagues are now under way, with matches scheduled to continue throughout the summer months.

In DIVISION 1, defending champions Loudoun opened with a 5.5 – 0.5 home win over Turnberry and followed this with a narrow 3.5 – 2.5 win away at Ballochmyle to take an early lead in the league.

In the other match played so far, Irvine and Prestwick St Cuthbert fought out a 3 – 3 draw over the Bogside course.

In DIVISION 2, Caprington lead the way following their opening drawn match with a 5 – 1 home win over Troon St Meddans, although they also suffered a setback, with a 4 – 2 defeat at Troon Portland.

Largs opened their title challenge with a narrow 3.5 – 2.5 at home to Royal Troon.

In DIVISON 3a, Girvan and Ayr Belleisle are undefeated and sit as joint leaders after the opening five fixtures.

Girvan had a 6 – 0 home win over Redburn recently, whilst Ayr Belleisle won 4 – 2 in their second fixture of the season, away to Prestwick St Nicholas.
