THE INNES McQUEEN TROPHY - Ayrshire ladies retain the trophy after draw at Rowallan Castle

The Ayrshire Ladies County Golf Association team
who retained the Innes McQueen Trophy
As the trophy holders, the Ayrshire Ladies County Golf Association team retained the Innes McQueen Trophy on Sunday 14th May, when they drew 2 - 2 with the Ayrshire Golf association team at Rowallan Castle GC in the annual match between the two county associations.



The Ayrshire Golf Association team won the two under 20's ties but the ladies won the other two ties to draw the match.

Zara Mason (Kirkcudbright) & Lousie Duncan (West Kilbride) lost to Jack Broun (Turnberry) and Euan Ferguson (Turnberry) by 5 & 3

Christina McCracken (Troon Ladies) & Katy Hill (Prestwick St Cuthbert) lost to Ewan Milligan (Kilmarnock Barassie) & Robbie Muir (Kilmarnock Barassie) by 4 & 3

Emma Thomson (Loudoun) & Liz Keohone (Loudoun) beat John Sloan (Doon Valley) & Sandy Walker (Kilmarnock Barassie) by 2 & 1

Emma Hale (Troon Ladies) & Catherine Malcolm (Prestwick St Cuthbert) beat Kyle Brown (Turnberry) & James McMurdo (Ballochmyle) by 7 & 5

At the conclusion of the match the players enjoyed a meal along with members of the McQueen family within the clubhouse before Rachel McQueen said a few words on behalf of the family and paid tribute to her grandmother Cathie McQueen, the donor of the trophy, who passed away just a couple of weeks before this year's match, before rachel presented the trophy to the winning team captain Liz Keohone.
