EUROPEAN SENIORS TOUR - Runner Up place for Drummond in Ireland

Ross Drummond from Prestwick finished runner up in the 2010 Handa Irish Seniors Open, presented by Fáilte Ireland, when the championship concluded on Sunday 13th June at Carton House GC near Dublin.
Frenchman Marc Farry shot a final round of 69 to finish two strokes clear of Drummond who closed with a round of 70 for an eight under par total.

This was the fourth occasion that Drummond has finishe in the runner up position since joining the seniors tour three seasons ago.

One shot behind Farry overnight, Drummond slipped further behind when Farry birdied the opening hole of the final round but hit back with consecutive birdies on the second and third to grab a share of the lead. Farry however birdied the fourth and eighth to restore a two shot advantage but Drummond again reduced the defecit to one hole at the turn with a birdie at the ninth.

After both players bogeyed the tenth hole, play was suspended for an hour due to the threat of thunder and lightning.

On the resumption of play, Drummond dropped a shot at the 12th to go two behind once again. A birdie at the 15th brought Drummond back to within one stroke of Farry, and he narrowly missed a second succesive birdie, and a share of the lead again, at the 16th when his put shaved the hole. Farry however produced a vital birdie two at the penultimate hole to seal his win and push Drummond into second place.
