Both sections in the 2008 Wallace Thornton Trophy (scratch knockout) are under way, with the opening fixture in section one providing a surprise when Prestwick St. Cuthbert won by 3 - 1 against the trophy holders, at the Barassie course.
In the other fixture played in the section so far, Kilbirnie had a 3.5 - 0.5 home win over Largs.
In Section 2, Belleisle opened with a 3 - 1 win at Ravenspark, whilst West Kilbride are setting the pace with two 3 - 1 home wins against Ravenspark and Ballochmyle.
