MENS' SCOTTISH AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Ayrshire hopes end in last sixteen

Ayrshire hopes of a win in the Mens' Scottish Amateur Championship, being hosted this year by the St. Andrews Links Trust, were extinguished at the last sixteen stage on Friday morning, the 2nd of August.

Ayrshire's last remaining representative, Craig Chalmers (Western Gailes), bowed out at the wrong ewnd of a 6&5 defeat by William Bremner (Edzell).

The championship concludes on Saturday.
