SCOTTISH WOMAN'S AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP - Emma hale leads the way at Royal Aberdeen

Connie Jaffrey & Emma Hale
Emma Hale (Troon Ladies) was the joint top qualifier for the matchplay stages of the Scottish Woman's Amateur Championship, being held at Royal Aberdeen from 6th to 10th June, after the second qualifying round was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

In the opening qualifying round, played in difficult conditions, Hale matched the one over par total of 77 posted by Chloe Goadby (St Regulus), and went into the matchplay stages as second qualifier.

Louise Duncan (West Kilbride) was tied sixth on 79 (+3) though her name does not appear in the matchplay stages, presumable due to non availability.

The only other Ayrshire player to qualify for the top flight of matchplay was Connie Jaffrey (Troon Ladies) , the championship runner up in 2014, who was tied 21st on 85 (+9)

The other Ayrshire players who took part in the championship were Gillian McGinlay (Troon Ladies) who had 94 (+18) and Jenny Linklater (Largs) who returned 97 (+21), to finish tied 53rd and 60th respectively.

In the opening round of the matchplay on Thursday morning, Emma Hale faces Kimberley Beveridge (Aboyne) whilst Connie Jaffrey plays Heather Munro (Monifieth).
