ST ANDREWS TROPHY - Further recognition for McDonald

Jack McDonald
Jack McDonald (Kilmarnock Barassie) received further recognition of his golfing pedigree today, Friday 17 April 2014, when he was named as one of five scots in the initial Great Britain & Ireland squad for the forthcoming St Andrews Trophy match against The Continent Of Europe.

McDonald has been included in the 21 man squad by Walker Cup Captain Nigel Edwards, alongside fellow Scots Grant Forrest (Craigielaw), James Ross (Royal Burgess), Bradley Neil (Blairgowrie) and Ewan Scott (St Andrews).

Nigel Edwards will captain the team for the third time with GB&I bidding to reclaim the trophy after a narrow 12½ – 11½ defeat at Portmarnock in 2012.

The St Andrews Trophy match will be held at Barsebäck Golf and Country Club in Sweden on 29th and 30th August.

The final team will be selected from the 21 strong initial squad in mid-August, following the European Amateur Championship at The Duke’s, St Andrews.
