Ayrshire beat the South Of Scotland by 5 - 4 on Saturday 4th October at Tain in the semi final of the 2008 Scottish Area Team Championship.
having only won the title on one previous occasion, in 1986, Ayrshire started with a 2 -1 win in the morning foursomes which was followed by a 3 - 3 draw in the afternoon singles to give Ayrshire their place in the final by 5 - 4.
In the final on Sunday 5th October, Ayrshire will meet Renfrewshire, who booked their place in the final with a 5 - 4 win over Lanarkshire in the semi final.
