Prestwick St. Cuthbert & Ayr Belleisle lead their respective sections as the rase for the final of the Wallace Thornton Trophy nears its conclusion.
In Section 1, St. Cuthbert, with all their matches played, lead with 12 points, whilst Largs and Kilmarnock Barassie, who are still to play at Largs, both hold hopes of winning the final match by a sufficient margin to overtake St. Cuthbert.
When St. Cuthbert won their penultimate match against Loudoun by 4 - 0 the Prestwick club's hopes were high but a 4 - 0 defeat at Largs in thir final match opened the door to Largs and Barassie to pip St. Cuthbert at the post.
Largs maintained their hopes in their penultimate match with a 2.5 - 1.5 win at Loudoun whilst Barassie also won on their trip to Loudoun, by 3 - 1 to keep their hopes alive of defending the trophy.
