AYRSHIRE MEN'S HANDICAP LEAGUE - Quarter final places become clearer as league section matches progress

As the qualifying sections in the 2024 Ayrshire Men's Handicap League Championship progress towards a conclusion, the destination of the eight places in the quarter finals becomes clearer.

In LEAGUE 1 Routenburn beat Tam O Shanter 4-2 at largs and Troon Portland had a crucial 3.5-2.5 away win against tam O Shanter which means the final fixture between Alton and Troon Portland will be effectively a play off for a place in the last eight, with the home side needing just a draw or better to progress.

In LEAGUE 2 Golf South Ayrshire finished their season with a narrow 3.5-2.5 defeat at home to Irvine, but still took the qualifying place.

In LEAGUE 3, Ayr Seafield and Ardeer shared the honours in their two fixtures, Ayr Seafield winning their home match 4-2 and Ardeer winning the return by 5-1, while Troon St Meddans had an important 4-2 win away to Wallacetown, to take them to the top of the table.
