An eighth place finish in the West Kilbride Open moved Brown up to level points with Chesney at the top of the table, just twenty points ahead of three other players, including ben Gibson (Kilmarnock Barassie), who took maximum points at West Kilbride with a scratch score of 67.
Graeme Gimson (Prestwick St Cuthbert) moved into joint sixth place after positing the leading score, a four under par 67, in the open competition at his home club on Sunday the 26th of May.
