AYRSHIRE MEN'S HANDICAP LEAGUE - Seven of eight qualifying sections under way.

Seven of the eight qualifying sections in the 2024 Ayrshire Men's Handicap League Championship are under way, as clubs bid for a place in the final at Ballochmyle in September.

In SECTION 1, Routenburn lost 4.5-1.5 at Troon Portland but bounced back with a 4-2 home win over Alton, who themselves had opened with a good 4.5-1.5 away win against Tam O Shanter.

In SECTION 2, Kilmarnock Barassie moved to the top of the table with a 3.5-2.5 win away to irvine, but their hopes took a setback in their next fixture with a 4-2 loss at Ayr Dalmilling.
