AYRSHIRE SCRATCH LEAGUES - Ballochmyle on the brink of relegation from Division 1

Ballochmyle are on the brink of  relegation from Division 1 of the Ayrshire Scratch leagues as a result of Largs winning their penultimate home match of the campaign on Friday night, the 4th of August.

Playing host to Kilmarnock Barassie, Largs secured a 5 - 1 win to not only ensure they avoided automatic relegation, but to also ease their concerns over dropping into the Division 1 / 2 play off spot.

In the remaining three fixtures still to be played, Largs play host to the new Division 1 champions Royal Troon and also travel to play Ballochmyle whilst Kilmarnock Barassie need a good finish with their two closing home ties, against Irvine and Loudoun, to make sure they are not involved in the relegation play off fixtures.

In DIVISION 2, Caprington and Turnberry boosted their hopes of being involved in the Division 1/2 play off matches with wins in their most recent fixtures.

Turnberry had a 4-2 home win over bottom club West Kilbride while Caprington ended Ayr Belleisle's promotion hopes with a 5-1 victory over the Ayr side at Caprington.

In the remaining fixtures, West Kilbride have home matches against both Turnberry and Caprington as they maintain their slim hopes of avoiding automatic relegation, though both their visitors will be looking for positive results to support their promotion bids, whilst Troon Portland will be looking for a positive result at home to Ayr Belleisle to ensure they avoid any possibility of automatic relegation.
