The quarter final matches in the 2023 Ayrshire Boys' Matchplay Championship took place at Prestwick Golf Club on the evening of Tuesday 8th August, in fine conditions, with an offshore breeze added to test the competitors.
First match out was between the new Ayrshire Boys Strokeplay Champion Scott Newman (Royal Troon) who was up against Euan Forrest (West Kilbride). In a tight match which went all the way to the final hole, it was Euan Forrest that booked his place in Wednesday's s3emi finals, with a single hole victory.
In the semi final, Forrest will play Luke Jones (Prestwick St Nicholas) who defeated Adam Cowan (Loudoun) by 3&2 to book his place in the last four.
Connor Wills (Royal Troon), a member of the victorious Ayrshire team that won the Scottish Boys' Area Team Championship in 2021, played Oliver Long (Kilmarnock Barassie) in the quarter finals, dispatching him by 2&1 to set up a semi final encounter with Findlay Watt (West Kilbride), who defeated Liam Moran (Irvine) by 4&2 in the last eight encounter.
The semi finals will be played at Prestwick Golf Club on the evening of Wednesday the 9th of August, with the final scheduled for the same venue 24 hours later.
