Ayrshire hopes of winning the 2022 West of Scotland inter county under 18 league were ended on Sunday the 4th of September when they were defeated 4.5 - 3.5 in their final fixture of the series by Glasgow at Sandyhills GC.
Though the four under 16 ties were lost 3 - 1, two of the ties were lost by a single hole on the final green, with three ties in the overall match being won by Glasgow with the same score.
Ayrshire's defeat confirmed that Lanarkshire will win the Wishart Trophy and West of Scotland Under 18 League title this year, with one fixture still to play, against the defending champions Dumbartonshire.
