With none of the closest challengers making any significant moves following the recent local counting competitions at Ardeer, Troon St Meddans, Largs, Ayr Dalmilling and Ballochmyle, Johnston's lead in the table cannot be matched with just the Arrol Cup at Prestwick St Nicholas left to play.
Sandy Buchanan (Prestwick St Nicholas) remains in second place at the moment, ahead of Scott Brown (Prestwick St Cuthbert) in third, though depending on the results at The Arrol Cup, any one of eleven players could move into the top three after the last counting event is completed.
