AYRSHIRE CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS - Brown beats Miller in clash of past champions

Scott Brown came out on top in the first round clash of former winners in this years Champion Of Champions competition this week.

The first round draw saw the 2011 winner from Turnberry drawn at home against the 1998 winner David Miller (Kilmarnock Barassie).

In what proved to be an inspired display of golf in cold and blustery conditions, Brown overwhelmed his opponent, finishing off the match at the 12th hole with a birdie for a 7 & 6 victory.

Brown now faces a home tie against either Craig Hamilton (Ballochmyle) or Thomas Smith (Wallacetown) in round 2.
