Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) - pictured right - lies in joint second place, two off the pace, after the first round of the Scottish Boys Strokeplay Championship being played at Cardrona this week.Stewart returned a three under par 69 to trail first round leader James Byrne (Banchory) by two shots, after his fellow boys internationalist fireed a five under par 67 over the borders course.
Next best placed Ayrshire players are Scott Brown (Turnberry) and Kyle Smith (Kilmarnock Barassie) who are tied 20th after returnign one over par 73's.
