AYRSHIRE GOLF ASSOCIATION - Shanks leads Doc Thom Order Of Merit

At the mid way stage of the 2007 Doc Thom Order of Merit, Ayrshire Strokeplay champion John Shanks (Irvine) - pictured right - leads the way.
With three of the six qualifying events completed, Shanks has amassed 247.5 points, almost 100 points ahead of his nearest rival, matchplay Champion Steven Murray (Troon Welbeck)
The remaining three qualifying events are the Viking Crus at largs (26th August), the Welbeck Links at Troon Darley & Lochgreen (2nd September) and the Arroll Cup at Prestwick St. Nicholas (15th September).
Present standing in the Order Of Merit are :-
247.5 pts....John Shanks (Irvine)
155 pts.......Steven Murray (Troon Welbeck)
145 pts.......Ross Milligan (Troon Welbeck)
115 pts.......Stephen McBlain (Prestwick St. Cuthbert & Brian Moore (Largs)
100 pts......Kevin Fergusson (Prestwick St. Cuthbert)
67.5 pts......Barry Crawford (West Kilbride), Darren Mallinson (Irvine Ravenspark) & Michael Smythe (Royal Troon)
50 pts.........Jamie Mackay (Kilmarnock Barassie)
45 pts.........Steven McEwan (Caprington), John Cairney (Irvine Ravenspark) & Mark Watt (Prestwick St. Cuthbert)
