David Currie (Kilmarnock Barassie), who was called up as a late reserve to compete in the third SGU Junior Tour event at Cardrona on Saturday 5th May 2007, marked his debut in the national series by winning the event.
A two under par 70 in the morning round was followed with an afternoon 73 for a total of 143, to edge out boys internationalists Scott Fraser (Royal Aberdeen) and Mark Bookless (Sandyhills) by two shots
Fellow Ayrshire player Cameron Gray (West Kilbride) was 7th, following on from his 4th placing in the second tour event, held at The Glen, North Berwick on 22nd April.
Also doing well in this seasons Junior Tour is Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) who was placed second in both the opening event at Kingsbarns on 1st April and the second event at The Glen later that month.
The 4th Junior Tour event of the season will be at Newmacher Hawkshill on 26th May, with the final event being at Kilmarnock (Barassie) on 17th June.
