SGU JUNIOR TOUR - Stewart second place once again

Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) shared second place in the latest SGU Junior Tour event, which was held at Newmacher on 26th May. This is the third time that Stewart has taken the runner up spot in this years Junior Tour, with 4 events played and one remaining.

Stewart led after round one with a 4 under par 68 but slipped back with a three over par 75 in the afternoon which let the winner James Byrne (Banchory) storm through to a 4 stroke victory with 71 - 68 = 139

Tied with Stewart on 143 was Michael Main (Thornton) with rounds of 76 & 67.

Euan Brown and Kyle Smith (Kilmarnock Barassie) were both joint 8th with 76 - 72 & 75 - 73 respectively.

The two other Ayrshire players taking part were David Currie (Kilmarnock Barassie), who won the last event, and Cameron Gray (West Kilbride).

Currie tied 17th place with 75 - 77 = 152 whilst Gray was well down the field in 34th place with 83 - 80 = 163

The final event in the series takes place at Kilmarnock Barassie on 17th June.
