SCOTTISH BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP - Addison and Gray safely through to round 2

Scottish Boys Internationalists, David Addison (Kilmarnock Barassie) and Cameron Gray (West Kilbride) are safely through to round 2 when they completed their first round ties on Tuesday 5th April.

Addison had a comfortable 5 & 4 win over Scott Fraser (Northern) whilst Gray was equally impressive with a 5 & 3 win over Craig Young (Eastwood).

Addison's clubmate Jamie Mackay failed to progress from round 1, losing out to Sam Binning (Old Ranfurly) by 5 & 4.

The three remaining Ayrshire representatives in round 1 , all from Largs, had their hopes dashed. Grant McFarlane lost by 5 & 4 to Chris Bell (Colville Park), Andrew Connell went down by 4 & 2 to Tommy Mitchell (Longside) whilst Ayrshire Boys Champion Iain Menzies went out to James White (Lundin) by 3 & 2.

In the first of the second round matches, Stuart Robin (St. Nicholas) exited the event with a 3 & 2 defeat by Zack Saltman (Craigielaw). Kyle Smith (Barassie) also lost out in the second round, being defeated 3 & 2 by Sean McGarvey (Glencorse).

The only other two Ayrshire players in action in round 2 on Tuesday were both successful in reaching the third round, Andrew Abercrombie (Largs) beating Scott Stables (Elgin) by 2 & 1 and Michael Stewart (Troon Welbeck) progressing comfortably with a 4 & 3 win over Shaun McAllister (Craigielaw).

The remaining second round, and third round matches are played on Wednesday.
