The team of Scott Newman (Royal Troon), Ryan Kennedy (Irvine), Connor Wills (Royal Troon) and Finlay Watt (West Kilbride) had a couple of poor holes in the morning foursomes which effectively ended any hopes of regaining the title Ayrshire last won in 2021, with the Ayrshire side finishing the morning fourteenth of the fifteen areas taking part.
The team improved their position in the afternoon singles, led by Ayrshire Boys Champion Scott Newman who recorded the fifth best individual score of the day with a two under par 70, just two shots off the best afternoon return, and their team total of 398 saw them finish in tenth spot.
Lothians won the title with a team total of 354.
