DOC THOM AYRSHIRE ORDER OF MERIT - Blair Morton secures first title

Blair Morton (Royal Troon) has secured the Doc Thom Salver and Ayrshire Order of Merit title for the first time following the completion of the final counting event, The Arrol Cup, at Prestwick St Nicholas on Saturday the 16th of September.


The Arrol Cup was won by Gordon Sangster (Cathkin Braes) with a two round total of 137, with George Robertson (Irvine) being the best places Ayrshire player in third place, on 141.

In the second round of the competition S Wylie (Elderslie)  ensured a memorable day with a hole in one at the par four sixth hole at St Nicholas.

Harvey Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck), the 2021 Ayrshire Junior Order of Merit winner, was sixth in the Arrol Cup, which moved him up to second place in the order of merit table, less than 40 points behind Blair Morton, and just under fifty points ahead of Steven Stamper (Turnberry) in third place.
