Second places at Largs and Royal Troon and a third place at Troon Welbeck moved him ahead of Jack Broadfoot (Troon Welbeck).
Australian Campbell Kerr, a member of Loudoun who is on extended vacation in Scotland this summer, presently sits in third place following his runner up place in the West of Scotland Boys matchplay Championship and a first place finish in the Largs Junior Open.
The next two qualifying events are the Loudoun Junior Open on the 11th of July and the Scottish Boys and Girls Championships which take place from the 13th to the 17th of July.
